Have you heard?

There is a new energy code rolling out in Saskatchewan designed to promote higher energy efficiencies in NEW homes!

Saskatchewan will be sectioned into zones based on temperature. (see map)

Locations which will see the largest impact are areas North of Saskatoon. In these areas, all homes built after December 2018 will be required to meet the new 9.36 Energy Code 7b.

The change in code will add cost to the overall price of the home.

A home built for the 9.36 Energy Code will now increase the price of the home by a minimum of $5,000 to potentially over $10,000 depending on the size of the home, and number of windows.

For example, our starter home, the Avalon, is currently priced at $84,900. With the new codes, this home will be priced over $90,000 for a 2019 build.

Please note * Homes built in 2018 will be grandfathered in to the code required prior to the implementation of these changes*
